an editor's guide to Longest Night: Something dangerous is in the forest beyond Warwick Castle, and Cora is determined to prove it. With the (begrudging) help of her friend-turned-enemy Dez, the castle Mage, she's determined to reveal the truth and protect the people of her family's lands: but she could never have anticipated the secrets and ancient magics that are at work in the old Wood. COMPS: Witchy by Ariel Slamet-Ries; The Bear and the Nightingale by Katharine Arden; Squire by Sara Alfageeh and Nadia Shammas; Uprooted by Naomi Novak; and the Witcher, Frozen, and Dragon Age. SPECS: fantasy graphic novel, est. 340 pages full color, 45 pages fully illustrated, 201 pages pencilled. two example comic page images themes (or just stuff that I think makes the story cool): finding the bravery to be who you are; dead gods & ancient, forgotten magics; sapphic romance; does not pass the reverse Bechdel test; friends-to-enemies-to-lovers; the stuff you've been bottling up is going to get you one way or another; the eerie silence of snow falling

My best outfit of the school year is already behind me 🥲
Me in the teacher bathroom taking a smug selfie dressed badly as megamind. I have a swim cap that I shoved candy bags into to make the head big, blue face paint, and a shirt and cape that I hot glued felt lightning bolts and silver hot topic studs onto. It made my students either upset or gleeful, there was no in between Will Ferrell at comic con in the exact same outfit pretty much
