Tonight I went to a #RegencyBall at #ApsleyHouse!
It was a special thrill because when I did research in the papers of #BetsyBonaparte I found invitations to Betsy from the #DukeofWellington.
This evening I had the pleasure of channeling my inner Betsy at a ball in the Duke of Wellington’s house!

The resonance of this quote in CORINNE transfixed me:

“However distinguished a man may be, he never appreciates the superiority of a woman without mixed feelings. If he loves her, his heart is troubled; if he does not love her, his pride is offended.”

I’m usually adamant that I don’t start #Christmas festivities until Advent, but when I had the chance to attend the preview of #AGlitteringInvitation: Christmas at Harewood” how could I resist this #HolidayMagic? The already spectacular #HarewoodHouse has turned into a #Regency-inspired fairyland!

I finally paid my first visit to #YorkCastleMuseum and was thrilled when I stumbled across their splendid #costume exhibit, #SecretsofDress.

There were so many innovative and immersive #exhibits to explore throughout the #museum that I’m sure I’ll be posting more photos from this visit for a while.

Lovely morning at #Shakespeare’sBirthplace, enjoying the #HistoricHouse and exploring the #exhibit in the visitors’ center, which is new since my last visit.
I’ve been spending so much time in the 18th century recently, that it’s a refreshing feeling to return to the #16thcentury for a bit.

It was a perfect #autumn day to visit #AnneHathaway’sCottage.
It was in this house that #Shakespeare’s wife #AnneHathaway grew up and there was something poignant about retracing his steps to visit her, walking from his Birthplace in the center of #Stratford-upon-Avon out to this peaceful spot.
