Let’s go CA! We have a chance to right this corroding ship and get back to government BY THE PEOPLE, not by vengeful narcissists, corrupt oligarchs, craven liars, extremists and frankly, the dumbest and least qualified people who are not acting as PUBLIC SERVANTS.

Minnesota needs to know the number of children in federal detention, who they are, and where they’re being held.

It’s time to start blaming all Republicans not just Trump. Trump could not do anything without them.

Parents are afraid to send their kids to school, classrooms sit half-empty, children are being taken to detention facilities. We’ve crossed a line.

I stood with education leaders to discuss the growing harm federal actions are causing to children, families, and our schools.

Garcia: I want to remind the American public of Stephen Miller. There's probably no single person in this government that has done more damage and more harm to people across this country than this man right here. It's our job to hold him responsible

Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning.

Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack.

They’re taking kids from Minnesota and sending them to detention camps. They’re shooting American citizens in the street and locking investigators out of the crime scenes. The world is watching what happens next.
Hundreds of people spelled out the distress signal "SOS" on Bde Maka Ska in Minneapolis on Friday, Jan. 30.

Repubs: Children being mowed down in schools is acceptable price for having guns.

Also Repubs: If you carry a gun and we don’t like you, we will execute you and blame you for your own murder bc you had a gun.

It doesn't matter what the Constitution says. If the government can execute you on the street or in your own home on a whim, you have no rights. None.

Just kinda seems like refusing to tell us which ICE agents murdered Alex Pretti undercuts the idea that they’re wearing masks to protect themselves — rather than to be able to kill people with impunity.

Tough times don't build character, they reveal it. And this era has shown who has moral character and who doesn't.

If Kamala Harris were president, Renee Good and Alex Pretti would still be alive today.

I did a thread like this years ago on Twitter, but I feel after the deaths of Becca Good and Alex Pretti, we need to remind ourselves that this has been an American reality for centuries. While I do not want to dismiss or downplay the tragedies in Minneapolis. Legal Lynching is not new. (thread)

Alex Pretti was an ICU nurse. Anyone who's had a loved one in ICU knows what angels these nurses are. You're at your lowest point in your life, worried about losing your loved one, and they're often the source of comfort & empathy when you need that the most.

This is how fascism comes to America. It’s the endless events, day after day, until one day you wake up in a different country. Anti-immigrant rhetoric, censorship, attacks on universities, masked terror squads murdering people in the streets, enemy lists, denaturalization, camps

We have been told for nearly 30 years that America needed to tolerate mass shootings because the broad availability of guns would help us defend ourselves from an overreaching federal government. That day has come. The people who said this are supporting the federal agents. Many have joined them.

America’s to-do list:

The Senate can and must reject the DHS funding bill — period.

Impeach Kristi Noem.

Arrest and prosecute the “agents” willfully violating state laws.

Unmask and remove these secret police from our streets.

If Black women ever decided to sit this out, the Democratic Party wouldn’t struggle, it would stop functioning.

And yet their leadership is still treated as optional.

When ‘Electability’ Is the Excuse
We say “Black women are the backbone of the Democratic Party.” But there’s also an unspoken rule that comes with it. The praise is fine. The power is not.
