Thanks to the Illinois Nurses Association for giving us the opportunity to to come together and talk about what really matters: dignity, safety, and care for every person. And we did it over several rounds of drag bingo by CHI CHI. Because joy, community, and care belong in the same sentence.
Donald Trump’s threat of political violence is dangerous and unacceptable. Leaders’ words have consequences for public servants, their staff, and the communities we serve. No one in public life should face threats from the President of the United States for doing their job.

Thanks to the 40th Ward Dems for hosting tonight’s candidate fair! I loved meeting residents and hearing directly about the issues they care most about, from healthcare and affordability to environmental protection. I look forward to continuing these conversations to earn their support on March 17.

Transgender Day of Remembrance is a call to action. I came to office 12 years ago believing the government’s job is simple: to protect the vulnerable. My first vote was for marriage equality, why I’ve fought for gender-affirming documents, HIV prevention, and real protections for LGBTQ+ Illinoisans.

Honored to receive the Top Woman Legislator in Leadership Award from the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois. For 13 years I’ve fought and delivered for our community, and that’s what I’ll continue doing in Congress.

SNAP is back, but working families across the 9th went weeks without basic necessities because Republicans decided to play politics with people’s food and healthcare.

Homeowners are getting hit with insurance hikes while corporations hide the bill. I introduced legislation to make Illinois a leader in challenging these increases. I've passed some of the toughest insurance reforms b/c working families deserve transparency and I’ll fight for the same in Washington.

Higher premiums, higher bills, more pain for families who can’t afford this deal. I’ve never shied away from a fight, and in Congress, I won’t touch a deal that sells out your cost of living.
November 13, 2025 at 5:45 PM
This "deal" will send premiums soaring for families already drowning in medical debt. For Illinoisans making $45,000 a year, your ACA plan could go from $150 to $700 /month. Protecting billionaires is not compromise, it’s a betrayal. I’d vote NO on this disgraceful bill. #holdtheline

Last night I spent time with a great group of Evanston neighbors at Drinking Liberally, a weekly gathering going strong for 20 years. We talked policy, shared stories, and had plenty of laughs. Our best solutions come from real conversations with people who make this community what it is.

Our service members have sacrificed so much for our country. They deserve our deepest respect and unwavering support, today and everyday. This #VeteransDay, join me in taking a moment to thank a Veteran in your life, and honoring those who have served.

I was honored to join the Democratic Party of Evanston in celebrating the leaders who lift up our community. No one embodies that spirit more than @schakowsky.house.gov. Thank you for your decades of service and inspiration.

Democrats should never take a deal that screws over Illinoisans and makes healthcare unaffordable. I’ve fought for affordable healthcare in Springfield and won’t surrender in Congress!

Unreal. Just when you think this administration has reached a new low, they go searching for another. Cruel and inhumane doesn’t even begin to describe this administration’s apathy towards our most vulnerable.

I am honored to have the support of business owner and Mayor George D. Alpogianis in my candidacy for Congress. Small businesses like Kappy’s keep our community thriving, I can’t wait to continue uplifting our small businesses in the 9th District and across the country. Thank you Mayor Alpogianis!

Yesterday, this banner read, “ICE Out of Evanston.” Someone tried to turn a message of solidarity into one of fear.

Our community won’t stand for that. We take care of one another here. We choose compassion over cruelty. I stand with every family who calls Evanston home when I say, “ICE Out!”
November 7, 2025 at 1:44 AM
Yesterday morning, ICE entered a daycare and forcibly detained a Pre-K teacher in the presence of young children. In what world does this make our community safer?

I'm thrilled to announce our campaign has passed 80+ endorsements, more than any other candidate in this race. IL leaders know I have a proven 13-year track record of delivering. I spent my career standing up against special interests and bullies. Exactly what I will do in Congress.

Last night, voters from Virginia to Texas rejected Trump’s extremism and chose Democratic problem-solvers.

From governor’s offices to school boards, voters protected healthcare, insisted on reasonable costs of living, and built community.

This government shutdown may have stalled benefits for over 40 million people in the U.S., including 1.9 million in Illinois, but it can't stall our community. Food and Essentials Drive runs November 3–14 at my District Office | Monday–Friday, 10am–3pm (closed Nov 11)

Thank you to every volunteer, campaign office, local elected, and community member who showed up for today’s emergency food drive at Wilmette City Hall.
November 2, 2025 at 1:23 AM
We had an incredible veto session in Springfield:

✅ Delivering $20 million in SNAP benefits
✅ Keeping our world-class transit systems moving
✅ Protecting immigrant families in schools and hospitals
✅ Strengthening foster care

A federal judge stopped the Trump administration from ending SNAP benefits— but the damage is already done. Families are scared, food banks are strained, and uncertainty remains.

That’s why we’re showing up.
