“I’m autistic and also a bitch.”
With summer now in full swing, your Cool Aunt is here to remind you to WEAR YOUR DAMN SUNSCREEN (and reapply at least every 2 hours), but also be careful when choosing formulas if you have pets.

Sunscreens which include zinc oxide can be poisonous if your dog ingests them.

Here’s your Earth Day reminder that one of the best things you can do for the planet is to disengage with capitalism in any way you can. Buying less stuff, borrowing what you can, and repairing the things you already own are all punk as hell and great for the planet. #EarthDay

It’s Autism Acceptance Month and I, a clinically diagnosed AuDHD adult, am here to remind you that self diagnosis is valid and that neurotypical people don’t spend loads of time obsessively researching whether they could be neurodivergent.
(And if you’re a self dx hater, shut up and get off my post)

As someone who desperately wants to be a mom but hasn’t been able to have a baby, I think what Chappell Roan said is important.
There are way too many people out there who would have been so much happier child free but had kids that they now resent because they felt like they were supposed to.

Of all the things I would have expected to come out of the last 5 years, Catholicism becoming trendy for the aesthetic would not have been among them.
Can someone tell the kids it’s fine to just be goth?

If you’re my relative move on because I’m confident you don’t want to read this.

Anyway
Are we ready to talk about how absurd it is that dental dams are, on average, twice the price of condoms?
And don’t even get me started on those single use latex underwear that are like $6 per pair.

Have we tried telling Trump that patriarchy isn’t even about horses?

Something I ask of my friends this year (that includes you, casual internet follower) is to let go of the idea that we should never inconvenience or be inconvenienced by our loved ones.

Good morning! This is your reminder to support your local library! Get your card and see what resources you have access to from programs and events to seed libraries, maker spaces and digital resources. Libraries are more than *just* books. (Although books are very lovely!)

Remember in Matilda when her dad gets furious that she can read and amuse herself with books, simply because he can’t stand education and his smart daughter highlights his lack of moral character and intelligence?

Just in case anyone was wondering why we’re sad about TikTok, here are some things I learned about myself by watching social media creators:
- I have ADHD (dx’d at 29)
- I’m autistic! (dx’d at 32)
- “The Birthday Sads” are actually called seasonal depression 🙃
- I’m able to learn & form new opinions

Look I know all periods can be brutal in their own ways, but at least 3 times a month I wish that I got the crying at every heartwarming cereal commercial mood swings and not the debilitating anxiety and feelings of impending doom mood swings 🙃

Me every time my sinuses start acting up since the only time I’ve ever had Covid, it had the same
symptoms as an allergy flare up for the first 4 days 🙃

Better safe than spreading viruses ✌🏻
