Just a middle-aged writer aghast at the world!
Head's up to all my followers: There's a scam going down about helping a family in Gaza. There's multiple accounts all using the same photos and request for money. I've blocked 2 already and they keep popping up in replies to posts that are entirely unrelated.

If I’m understanding this correctly, X is owned by a white nationalist who pays poor people of color in developing countries to pretend to be working class white Americans to scare other white Americans into being afraid poor people of color from developing countries are going to ruin America?

The Coast Guard will no longer classify swastikas and nooses as hate symbols.

This action, coupled with the President's call to hang Democratic members of Congress - both in the past few hrs - are more than "potentially divisive."

They are vile, unconscionable, and dangerous.

So MAGA, You see these two? One of them is your dear leader, the other is a Prince in a country where CHRISTIANITY IS BANNED. Where you can be arrested for being a CHRISTIAN, for displaying CHRISTIAN symbols and even, for having a bible.
But go ahead, tell me how much fucking MONEY he's investing.

Trump, who is himself guilty of treason and sedition many times over, is again inciting violence, murder, and assassinations by calling for Dem leaders to "hang" and that "an example must be set" for their urging service members to disobey his illegal orders.

The President of the United States just called for my arrest and execution.

In these moments, fear is contagious, but so is courage:

A change from “hate incident” to “potentially divisive” may sound semantic, but it isn’t. Removing language about swastikas sends a signal inside a command under political pressure to dilute harassment-prevention standards. Authoritarians do this intentionally.

It's supposed to accurately inform people

This is such an insane time to be alive. The short sweet moments of frantic hope followed by crushing disappointment followed by more hope. I remember when 24 hour news channels were incredibly redundant, and now it seems 24 hours isn't enough time to process the last 24 hours every single day!

Universities never indoctrinated anyone. It’s simply that right wing views don’t survive critical thought or serious scrutiny.
And it’s really easy to call everything a conspiracy when you don’t know how stuff works.

You don’t need to watch Seth Meyers to see the danger here. Presidents in democracies don’t demand that critics be fired, and federal regulators don’t amplify those demands. It undermines editorial independence and chills dissent.

Do not let Megyn Kelly or any of the MAGA sickos normalize their monsters.

They’ve consistently shown they will excuse anything for wealth and power.

That will always be the core difference between us and them.
