A6: Envisioning #literacies! "Relational witnessing" as pedagogy: the attunement to a child's meaning-making; methodologies that can bring the child's process, embodied labors, and materiality into the same frame... how we go back to the children.
Q6: What #literacies futures are you envisioning that we can work toward in the present?

A3: What's fun are the random #literacies "lobby time" gatherings at various conferences... talking out manuscripts fueled by laughter and big ideas (and coffee)
Q3: The #literacies chat began in 2012 with a Derrick Bell quote, "However self-sufficient we may fancy ourselves, we exist only in relation..." What connections have you made with others through the chat?

A2: Tbh, every single #literacies chat impacts my thinking. It's hard for me to be timely, concise, and deep with limited characters. However! There was one about relational (and maybe play-based?) literacies that felt especially generative. If I'm still replying days later... that's a good thing.
Q2: Which topics from the #literacies chats have stayed with you and impacted your thinking or research the most?

A1: I originally joined the #literacies chat on Twitter as a grad student at UT Austin. It's been great to "meet" like-minded folks, build thinking together, and learn with scholars I admire.

Our libraries and library professionals are keystones of our communities fostering minds and offering services to individuals regardless of background. We must lift them up, especially this National Library Week, and demand that Trump and DOGE do not gut support for these vital institutions.

A2: slowness (!!), mediated activity, posthumanism (neohumanism, Braidotti), discursive materiality, (trans)languaging, play, early #literacies, and the relationships among & between. What knowledges are produc(ing).
Q2: To go deeper, what theoretical traditions shape how you think about #literacies? By theoretical traditions, we mean schools of thought, assumptions, and conceptual commitments.

A1: to me, #literacies (broadly) are relational, material constellations. Being/doings that include tools, bodies, structures, signs… moving with and alongside others.
Q1: There’s no shortage of literacy constructions (rural literacies, Black girl literacies, queer literacies, multimodal literacies, etc.). At the same time, literacy is entangled, affective, and more-than-human. So, what are #literacies to you?
