A fair society requires a fair taxation system where those with the most contribute most towards the social good.

Land Value Tax is the fairest of all taxes as well as being simple to understand and impossible to avoid.

Land Value Tax (LVT) is simple, fair, and impossible to avoid. LVT can replace unfair taxes like Council Tax and provide 100% of the funding required by Local Authorities.

Rachel Reeves budget of November 2025 has, unwittingly, prepared the scene for introducing Land Value Tax.

The "Mansion Tax" requires the revaluation of homes in bands F, G and H. The chancellor has shown how easy this would be to do before introducing LVT.

We have added a new page to the website covering other changes that must be made.

Why tax at all?

Nobody likes paying taxes but we need them and, like Land Value Tax, they should be simple, fair and impossible to avoid while promoting equality.

We need to understand what taxes are really for - and they aren't for what most people think!

The casino has gone mad - it will end in tears!

"Investors" don't "invest" by providing money to invent and manufacture things. They place bets by buying and selling stock - like chips in Las Vegas!

Government invests. Taxes, like Land Value Tax, keep things under control.

Keep It Simple.

Government controls the economy- not “The Bond Market”.

Government spends/invests, money circulates, tax keeps things under control/

The rest is about fairness – and Land Value Tax is the fairest of all taxes.

The government is the biggest investor in the country - it builds things we need and pays the wages of millions of people.

It is also provides security for savings.

It pays interest on savings by raising tax - and Land Value Tax is the fairest of all taxes.

Guide for those watching King and Conqueror.

Those in power fight one another to hold land to extract wealth and rent from those who work the land.

William The Bastard (WTB) of Normandy led a band a violent ruffians rampaging throughout northern France, raping, pillaging and stealing land.

Earl Godwin lived off rent from the labour of others on the land of Wessex.

In 1053 Harold, Godwin's son, took over on the death of his father.

WTB and Harold made a land-grab and claimed the English throne on the death of Edward the Confessor.

WTB invaded England while Harold was fighting and defeating the Danes at Stamford Bridge (Yorkshire) on 25th September, 1066.

Harold marched his army 275 miles south only to be defeated by WTB at the battle of Hastings on October 14th.

WTB crowned himself king of England and claimed all the land as his personal possession – “to use and abuse as he sees fit”. He granted the right to “hold” land (as “freehold”), not to “own” it, to those in favour – he took it back if they fell out of favour.

Unlike every other colonial invasion (the Romans in Britain, the British in India, etc.) the Normans never left. They are still with us, they still hold over 30% of our land and they still live off the labour of others through rent.

They created property laws in their favour, they appointed the judges to rule in their favour and they controlled the state’s monopoly on violence to enforce their laws in their favour.

As a society, we now own all the land of England and we control its use through the planning system.

We have had enough of being a Norman colony.

It seems fair that all those who hold our land should contribute to the social good by paying a tax on it

People struggling to pay their rent, their mortgage and their household bills are easy prey to those offering scapegoats.

You can't blame people if the government fails to promote fairness by putting their City friends before the rest of us.

One simple step towards fairness is a Land Value Tax.

‪A government that fails to create a fairer society opens the door to those who promote scapegoating and "easy solutions". Witness flags on lamposts.

We will hold the Labour Party and its MPs personally responsible for what comes next if they fail to tax the wealthy.

Over 60% of our national wealth is tied up in land - in fields and under our homes, factories, offices, roads, etc.

In 2018 Rachel Reeves supported Land Value Tax because it is simple, fair and impossible to avoid.

What has changed her mind?

Land Value Tax is simple, fair and impossible to avoid because it taxes the use of the one asset we, as a society, own and control.

A wealth tax based on personal net assets will fail, as it has failed elsewhere, and it will make a lot of people, especially lawyers, very rich!

Nigel Farage opposes a wealth tax and Land Value Tax.

bsky.app/profile/tuc....

We wonder why?

He has made over £1 million since becoming an MP. Could it be that he identifies more with the wealthy than with the people of Clacton?

The word "grifter " springs readily to mind.
"The only time I’ve ever seen him is when he pops into town for 5 minutes every couple of weeks, gets a little soundbite, and then buggers off again.”

We asked a resident in Clacton, Farage’s constituency, what he thinks about the self-proclaimed “man of the people”.

91% of Labour Party members support a wealth tax.

leftfootforward.org/2025/08/labo...

However, they support one which is easy to avoid and which has failed everywhere it has been tried.

The only simply, fair and impossible to avoid wealth tax is Land Value Tax.

Corbyn has over 700,000 signups for "Your Party".

An honest man is sometimes preferable to a media-pleasing, self-serving, fake like Blair or a principle-free zone like Israel-supporting, Starmer.

McDonnell and Corbyn supported Land Value Tax.

Worth a thought ....

It turns out that non-doms, "fleeing the country", have left a lot of their wealth here in the form of property.

Actually few have left - The Daily Mail owner, and others, like living here and educating their kids here.

Wherever they go, that can't avoid Land Value Tax!
