The Republicans, one way or another, will have to extend the ACA for a year unless they want to bear absolute economic rage. So they can strong arm it & try to make Dems cave, but the rage will be leveled at the Repubs at that point whether they extend or send millions into healthcare freefall.

The coverage so far is ... curious. Lionizing the deceased officer. That would be predicted. But no mention of the other victims. They may not yet be known, but they're referred to in passing, as numbers. And that's it. It doesn't look good.

Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism.

In almost anywhere on the political spectrum you ID with or major issue, there’s probably a bot/troll operation to encourage your rage and vitriol.
And how/where that rage gets directed, esp understandable rage, is what they are out to influence.

People on this app get really angry every time I point out that social media manipulation is a real phenomenon that we are all stewing in and that’s having real world consequences and I’m sure part of that is engagement farmers who do that manipulation not liking people talking about it
