Health care exec. MSc in public health & pandemics. COVID cautious mask wearer. Wishing for the good ol’ days of strong Public Health. Glad I’m Canadian.
I did focus groups a few years ago. So many folks couldn’t make heads or tails of the rapidly changing info and guidance on the evolving H1N1 pandemic. Do I get vaccinated? Decline it?

Newbie question - humour me on this. If I want to bookmark a post or article (like that other place), I reply with a push pin … or something … something? And where does it ‘go’ after I do that? #Bluesky101

The Canadian Covid Society (@CanCovSoci) is in the process of writing practice guidelines for:

Masks in health care settings
Proper ventilation in schools and clinics/hospitals
Vaccinations
Use of Rapid Antigen Tests
Acute Treatment Guidelines (antivirals etc).

My area of interest is scientific literacy and the public’s difficulty discerning accuracy from mis/disinformation. The politicization of mainstream media, + few guardrails on social media, means public health is now in the FO stage of FAFO. Let’s rally Canadians to take back power and action.
Schools don’t need to be scientists to clean the air - they just need the will. We have the tools, why aren’t we using them?

Hi everyone. New to BlueSky. My late career foray into public health/pandemic studies (following the H1N1 pandemic) now seems like a wildly fringe endeavour. Clearly mainstream PH institutions have since lost their way. Looking to restore my optimism through connections here.
