I colored the Mari Lwyd x St. Lucia drawing I did a year ago, no reason.
A digital, monochrome illustration of a Mari Lwyd – A decorated horse skull draped in textiles and colored ribbons, used in Welsh wassailing tradition – wearing a crown of candles for Santa Lucia Day, December 3rd, which is a significant observance in Sweden. Resting on the bottom of the horse skull's lower jaw are two human eyeballs, which are symbols of St. Lucia. Drawn digitally in fine black lines and grain shading in 2024 and colored in 2025 There is no reason to join these two iconographies and yet I have done so. You couldn't have stopped me in any case.
