During a walk over at the #Erie bayfront earlier, I saw some ice beginning to form along the bayfront. The temperature back at home at 7pm is currently 12 degrees.

ERI has now recorded 54.8” of snow on the season in just one week. That’s 41.5” above normal for the season, 53% of the entire seasonal average, and already more than either the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 seasons.

We are leading the golden snow globe competition in Erie. @climatologist49.bsky.social will probably overtake us if that week 2 +WPO/+EPO pans out, however.

I’m intrigued with the GFS solution, showing a setup that is similar to the November 1950 event. For Erie and Cleveland locales, we would probably want to see a slight north trend and a colder airmass should this system materialize.
