The reason religion is part of the ufo discourse is because some of the features of ufo experiences suggest an idealist metaphysics, more compatible with the worlds religions than physicalism. Don’t paint everyone coming at this with an idealist framework as a religious zealot.

The UFO evidence seems to support idealism over materialism as a metaphysics. Some people seem to conflate idealism with a fundamentalist Christian view. Many people are losing the plot over someone having a spiritual experience. This is what comes of cherry picking the evidence.
