I know it's cold here and I know I'm always talking about our move to Victoria in 2026 but really nowhere seems as beautiful as southern Tasmania, Tasmania in general. We've been so spoiled by this beauty. The plants, the wildlife, the rivers and sea, the mountains. The mountains!!! Nowhere like it

The man gave me anniversary breakfast in bed with sweet williams. The flowers are a reminder of our weekend together in Melbourne soon after we began 😊. Train from Adelaide, stayed in a super cheap hotel on Elizabeth Street. Visited Queen Victoria Market and bought sweet Williams ❤️

COVID vaxed again. Six monthly now. If I can have it you can have it. I need the lie down to have it due to a condition I have but its worth it. See my mask indentations. 😷
Novid, not proud, not virtue signalling, just relieved my efforts have paid off so far.

Something I didn't know 😊
"Research suggests that people with a history of COVID infection or vaccination reach peak antibody titers sooner compared to those without — about 10 days after getting their shot"

😷 Today's mask stories. Visited Hobart Tasmania (not far from us). Enjoyed Salamanca Place. Bought a few sweet cards and books. Saw one masked lady. Said "hello masker!" (we're friendly here). 2. Shop seller said "I don't see masks much anymore, feel bad don't they!". I said, feels better than...

My father died 4 months ago.
In this time of adjustment I'm finding thoughts of his character pop into my mind.
This morning I thought how sweet, old fashioned? it was that he greeted people, expected to be remembered, thankful for kindness. He was a friendly man but complicated.

This is the first book we've given our grandson 🐛
The Atlantic has chosen 65 titles to help foster a child’s lifelong relationship with books and to give these formative works the respect and scrutiny they deserve. David Sims explains why he chose "The Very Hungry Caterpillar." Explore the full list at the link: theatln.tc/ktFFrmrR

I just had my mind blown in a bad way reading hundreds of ignorant Australian anti vax comments in a Victorian fb community group. Left me feeling a bit concerned about moving there soon. The aggression and sarcasm was extreme. The extent of belligerent anti science mindset surprised me.

Well that was a nice time exceot when he asked about my health issues and is it covid we're concerned about. A bit intrusive. Both said they'd def had it twice and both very sick. She said she's taking vitamins and feels they're giving immunity. Interesting the things people tell themselves....

Today we sold what's been our guest bed, the first bed we bought for ourselves. It was hand built for us. Sad seeing it go. Next home won't have room for it. The amazing thing was it sold to a local via FB marketplace. Was gone from our rural property within 45 minutes of listing!

🏡 Looking forwards to some friendly neighbours visiting us on Saturday for homemade scones, jam & cream on the deck & showing them our half acre of gardens & orchard. Distanced to avoid potential airborne viruses. It's a good time to relax our mitigations a bit with covid & influenza very low here.

COVID aware people, I'm gobsmacked! I texted an electrician to visit and asked if he'd wear a mask and I got this reply
"No problem at all, I have a couple of cloth masks and some N95 masks in the van for just such an occasion"

Saw a video of one of those UK talk shows with one of those celebrity twin doctors. He said flu is killing large numbers "unlike covid or colds". Completely untrue! Here in Australia our official data shows COVID is killing 5X as many as from flu. How can there be such abject ignorance?? 😡

Huon Valley Tasmania I am not impressed. This is the last Spring we will get to live here and so far we've had 3 Springy days and now this and it's nearly Summer.
Not impressed.
And cold

Having a CO2 monitor opens up a whole area of learning about human and environmental health. This is in a room off our kitchen after cooking with all the doors and windows shut except the one between the rooms. Dropped to 900 after opening another door and a window. Too much CO2 leads to drowsiness

🌿 Finally had a beautiful calm blue sky mildly warm day in southern Tasmania. Planted 60 x red petunias and purple lobelias into a large planter box and my beautiful blue ceramic pots

Very hardy man neighbour spent 2 weeks in bed very sick with "a flu". He's better now but I can't help think how people could avoid flu & covid by wearing good masks. I know it's not easy, we've done it for years, but wearing masks does help preserve your health. I've seen people I know age rapidly
