I see the guardian aus has allowed the millionaire economist to shit on the idea that working people can buy their 1 or 2 bedroom apartments quicker.

What a great story.
This program is "keeping children off the streets and has "broken the cycle" of youth crime."

As youth crime dominates headlines, this community has a solution
As Kununurra battles with a surge in youth crime, residents in Fitzroy Crossing are celebrating their success in reducing rates through a community-led initiative.

👇 Correct
Agreed, but the extraordinary thing is they will still be competitive. Endless talk about cost of power etc, aided by a lazy media more interested in confected drama than facts.

I often felt the last two or three years of his leadership he overstepped the mark, the shift to the right was probably always going to happen given how he drove economic policy in that direction, as for the University fees that Gough abolished, made no bloody sense...Dawkins owns a lot of that too.

l think Keating can take some pride in the Lib’s demise - he vilified Howard before, during and after government, setting in train both a notion of revenge and self loathing in JWH, which had the desired trickle down effect starting with Abbott, ending with Morrison - a policy vacuum train wreck.

Now Jane Norman is interviewing Clare Armstrong (ex-News Corp, now #theirABC) who says "there are some nuances to be worked out"

"Nuances"? 🤯

Most of the Canberra Press Gallery seemed to be surprisingly, but rightly, critical of the announcement - but not the ABC...

The always awful Jane Norman.

No, it's not "a contested argument". It's absolute, proven, bullshit.

Do some reading. Tell the truth. FFS.

I have a few mates I routinely go to the A-League with - but that's about it. I like the routine of it and pre-game banter. I need less as I age, but I do value those exclusively male moments as they are so very rare.
Each week I become more and more reclusive. It’s odd really. I don’t mind it when I do see people, but I go for weeks on end without talking to anyone other than neighbours. I’m at the point where only one chum invites me for brekkie now, and that’s when he visits from Melbourne. It’s interesting.

Yep - by that logic, nothing is working. Which may also be true.
I was a youth worker 50+ years ago. Youth crime was a huge issue along with the rise of acid and smack.
Arrest and incarceration didn't work then and won't work now.

If by 'work' you mean that it denies the offender their liberty, prevents them from causing additional harm in the community and signals community preferences - it certainly would. If you mean is it fair, reasonable or ethical - not even the Greeks can tell us that. The devil will be in the detail.

The conservatives have always been the first to rip up constitutional conventions in this country. Why the media class have never understood this has been a mystery to me.
