So true.

“Had the world stood up to Netanyahu as he illegally annexed more and more of Palestine then we wouldn’t be talking about the U.S. colonising Canada and Greenland”

How did this happen without me knowing?
Despite US politics being a total clusterfuck, this is an incredible development. It will be the first time anyone under the age 54 will have been alive to see a Lunar mission. Part of the spacecraft was also built by the European Space Agency. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Final preparations now get underway for the first crewed mission to the Moon in more than 50 years.

Trump has been in office less than a year, and already even Republican Senators recognize we are in desperate times.

If there's one empirical insight I'd want everyone to understand about American politics, it's this:

America's problems are solved problems. Just not here.

What would change if the US simply matched the average of 31 peer democracies? Not Denmark or Norway. Just the middle of the pack. 🧵

This piece is very well reported and written. It’s clear-eyed, precise and gives important context. And yet it’s a great illustration that there’s this fundamental, unbridgeable formal constraint that makes it essentially impossible to plainly call this what it is.

I follow George Conway. I like him. It's refreshing to see a sane. reasonable moderate. But NY12 is a Dem +33 district. It should be represented by the most liberal candidate you can find!

A Black man was killed by ICE (off duty) in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve. And like Renée Good, he was an American citizen. But most people have not heard about Keith Porter.

I need y’all to realize this. Black people experience this lack of visibility all the time when it comes to being victims.

The case would be unwinnable - except the fix is in.
This is exactly what I told someone yesterday.

Even if I spot you the first shot (I shouldn’t, but let’s go with that), shots 2 and 3 were inexcusable and this officer will lose his case if it ever goes to court.

I want to connect the dots.

The rush to call Renee Good a terrorist, the rewriting of Jan 6th - it's all part of Trump's campaign to use violence to protect his power.

A world in which our leader gets to shoot or attack us if we oppose him - that's a dystopia we cannot permit.

The Democrats should push a bill making Greenland the 51st State - contingent on the people of Greenland passing a referendum to accept the offer.

If no, the matter is closed. If yes, we get 2 new Democrats in the Senate and 1 in the House.

González needs to start acting like the President of VZA. Get Congress to recognize him.
“Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado, who recently won the Nobel Peace Prize, has called for Edmundo González, to be recognized as the rightful leader of the nation. He was widely seen as the legitimate winner of the 2024 presidential election in the country.”
Who is María Corina Machado, Venezuela's Nobel Peace Prize winning opposition leader?
The United States has captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. Opposition leader María Corina Machado has been one of his biggest critics.

Same.
I will never be able to forgive South African born Elon Musk for the damage he & DOGE did to our government. He is clearly a racist elitist who does not care about less fortunate people.

I will therefore never buy a Tesla or any other product from a Musk company.

Well said. But I think he understates the effect of money. Would Thomas rule the same regardless? Maybe, but only maybe. Most justices move left over time. He is an extreme outlier. There is always a reason for outliers. *Something* has been pushing him to the right.

To be sure, Joe Biden had some embarrassing gaffes, and his Atlanta debate performance made clear he wasn't up for a second term

But never once did Biden blurt out the details of a CIA covert op by going on a B-list radio show

Can you imagine the uproar if he had?

Good idea.
Here's a method to resist that I've not seen anywhere. Every PAROLE OFFICER in America should be sent images of the roughest ICE agents, especially in their region. Do you doubt there are plenty of of ex-cons in ICE? Even masked, they'd probably be recognizable by skilled parole officers.
