Julius Caesar opens in less than three weeks! I’m currently up to my elbows in retractable prop daggers and fake blood; resigning myself to the fact that a few of my cast members will need a fresh costume for every performance.

Museum of the American Indian in NYC. @nothingsmonstrd.bsky.social and I saw it a few weeks ago. The museum is in the old customs house near Battery Park. The most moving exhibits in the place were empty cases with placards reading: The items in this case have been returned to their tribe.

I am loving my month in Manhattan but MOTHER of GOD THE WEED! Or did everyone in the borough get a pet skunk? Honestly, New Yorkers have embraced legal weed with all the sophistication of a bunch oh 7th graders who just found a baggie on the side of the road.

Utqiagvik (formerly Barrow) saw its last sunset for 67 days the other day. As the northernmost town in Alaska, they won't have another sunrise until the end of January!
Fun fact: my parents taught there in the early 90's. I graduated a Barrow Whaler with 31 others in 1992.
