Alarming new study in JAMA modeling measles in the US:

If we stay at CURRENT vaccination rates, measles will become endemic again over roughly 20 years.

If rates drop by even 10 percent (and they're sliding), there would be 11 MILLION cases over the next 25 years. jamanetwork.com/journals/jam...

It takes intellectual effort to hold multiple, seemingly contradictory, truths at once. And it’s worth it. The world is complex and its problems require this kind of wisdom.
The world is awful. The world is much better. The world can be much better.

All three statements are true at the same time. Understanding this is key to solving big global problems.

We believe data & research can help us understand both the problems we face & the progress that’s possible. 🧵
