For my part I've grown to accept that Metroid Prime (2 more than 1 but 1 lead the way to 2) ended the Metroid I loved as a young person but I am fortunate to enjoy modern Metroid in it's own way even if it isn't that.

@axl99.bsky.social related but this makes me wonder if Lore Debt would be a good way to describe a game that is so big it's all but impossible for a new player to absorb it? like World of Warcraft or Warframe (I WF tries really hard though)

Legion Remix in World of Warcraft has reminded me that they brought back Karazhan one of the move liked raids of the time in terms of vibes and items you could get... and replaced most of those items with generics...

Interesting... posted a admitedly rage filled skeet about MMOs continually pushing players away from socializing through bad design and just not understanding how social gameplay works and it seemed to post but immediately vanished.

as I've been playing Monster Hunter Wilds again... I would like to say again that auto climbing things that are off fucking camera is criminal and I am honestly blown away this continues to be a thing.

I've defended it before because I do think people went too far in their talk about it but it really is a wonder how bad Rise of the Ronin runs for how it looks on PC on a PC with an RTX 4080, 32gb of DDR5 CL36 6000MTS and an 9800X3D I have to run at 1080p if I want to hit 60 true fps at max settings

amusing thing, I have "Joined" two youtubers by paying over the years and ONLY 2, one of which did a member only thing two or three times a year and otherwise just raked in the cash (which is fine, he is honest about it)

Daylight savings is already a terrible concept that has very much outlived it's usefulness, I do not understand why people force it on their pets.

@nobleheroine.bsky.social related but I just upgraded from an i7 13700k to a 9800X3D, between the cpu, motherboard and ram and a cooler I am still only out a little over 1k I was surprised, old ram was one stick of 16gb because the other stick randomly (HAH) died.

it's interesting to look back at other challenging games from around or even a little before the time Dark Souls started to take off and think on how so many of those failed or were niche while Dark Souls went viral.

I feel for the dev for Megabonk because it is a lot and we're very loud but I am concerned with how the game is being handled, you have a game that survives on it being fun to watch as much as it is to play and right now it isn't fun to watch at all.

@legalminimum.bsky.social it's amazing how much lighter controllers are without the rumble motors, like it's obvious but it's still surprising when you actually do it, although with this controller being partially clear it's a shame i cannot see them moving anymore.

Pro tip on this btw, when you have buildings you want to upgrade or build make a bounce box that it is hard for the workers to leave out of buildings, once you have everything built move the buildings away to improve harvesting.
the hardest part of Ball X Pit is by FAR optimizing your farm lol... that shit is wiiild.

spilled a drink on my Forza Horizon 5 xbox controller, tore it all apart and cleaned everything, while reassembling I detached a rumble motor for the triggers, decided to just remove all the rumble anyway to make it lighter as I usually turn rumble off, fully assembled and working now.

so before bed last night I figured out how to get TRCC (the Thermalright software) to actually do the thing, I added it to the startup folder and tried a different method to save the video option and it seems to load it up now on boot.

after like 2 days my impression of the extremely affordable Thermalright CORE Vision 360 I picked up for the new cpu is that it is fantastic hardware and easily installed (the latter is mostly AMD's doing) but the software is god awful.
