BREAKING NEWS:

#ICE Secret Police violently gang up on an individual man before opening fire on him with 10-12 shots fired as he lay on the ground.

VIEWER CAUTION.

Repost this as much as possible.

A year ago, I received a stop work order (and eventual termination) on my first ever grant win as a PI. Because of environmental justice elements in the work (that "they" coded DEI). I have a hard time letting that frustration go. #academicsky

Do you ever hear the word metronome and start thinking about a gnome just going about their day in NYC or Chicago or something?

I've had a sneaking suspicion that #Trump doesn't realize that #Greenland isn't actually that big - that he's been fooled by not understanding how #map projections work. 1/x

I know the Mercator default is already a travesty of global proportions, but its use seems especially egregious when talking about Greenland.

As a theoretical cosmologist, I'm frequently asked "what is the benefit of the work you're doing for people's lives?" Nothing I work on makes money or cures disease.

There are a few different answers one can give, at various levels of "convincing" / "actually relevant to why the work is done."

My wife and I are heading home after spending almost a week in Québec City #canada 🇨🇦. The culture, the terrain, the food... We loved it all! How do we come back to visit (or live 😉) ASAP?! #quebeccity

There's a kind of #ADHD task paralysis labeled "waiting on too many things"

Like, if the grantor who's running two full weeks behind could announce, maybe I could finish writing this paper

Even though they're totally unrelated 😅

I'm super excited to announce we have released an updated version of the gridded methane inventory. Some sort of paper will be forthcoming as well, but we couldn't wait to get data out to folks now! #methane #emissions #academicsky #geospatial
