Another school district just quietly removing over 500 (FIVE HUNDRED) books in the last year. This stuff is not slowing down
We received (via PRR) the list of books removed from Union County Public Schools during the 24/25 SY.

The district reported NO OBJECTIONS for the year, but 508 titles were removed (for a total of 719 books).

These removals were not reported to the state.

Keep creating, even if the world feels hard. Even if the work feels hard. The world needs your voice. There's a kid out there who will be changed because of your imagination and efforts. And even if the work feels lonely, you aren't alone. I'm so proud to be in the publishing trenches with you.

I just saw Superman film at the movies. 🍿 Love a packed theater and spontaneous applause at the end of a film! Then came home to read outside. Ahhh, the small joys of summer vacation.

Someone in education recently told me that 10 years we will be a “post-literate” society due to AI, and I can’t get it out of my soul.

I refuse to passively let this happen. This is the hill I will die on.
