in the past decades we kinda stopped asking people for information because everything was on the internet in semi-reliable quality, and now that everything is bullshit and AI generated we'll have to fall back to talking to people who actually have experience in relevant topics, how the turntables

do you guys remember that in Quake3 engine games you could execute console commands just by the prefix, so beginners were always tricked to execute /disco to dance which resulted in /disconnect?

Just had to download a whole engine installation to be able to fetch a single UE plugin from Fab. If only Epic used their own tools and had any incentive to fix them...

Notepad++ is a security hazard, because its installer has so sensible defaults that I blindly install it with Next, Next, Next every time. If it ever added an "Install McAfee Browser Toolbar" option, then I guess I'd have a McAfee toolbar

btw I just realized that WE are the parallel universe.

like, our world is where the actual hero accidentally ends up in through a tear in space, realizes how fucked up and mental it is, and goes "we HAVE TO get back".

then via some epic journey manages to leave for The Real World which makes sense

also look at this beautiful dynamic-shadow I made in JK3 back in like 2010 or so

yes, those are just partially-transparent brushes that I rotate with the same speed as those blades (4 shadow blades for the wall and 4 for the floor), pretty rad innit

Not sure if you people remember but the Jedi Knight series had such a nice, unconstrained lightsaber usage flavored with some additional cool moves, old games were pretty fun

After like 12 years I have now touched GTK Radiant again, and I forgot how much I miss similar brush tools from Unreal, it was so quick to set up the layout!

Also now I have the urge to make UE5 volumes render like this with translucent faces, instead of the barely-clickable-and-visible edges 🧊
