today & tomorrow i'm visiting uncle steve at the hospital, hoping i can get a VERY comprehensive list of all his discharge instructions - diet restrictions, movement restrictions, home oxygen use, accessibility changes, etc - because until we can hire home care, i am his whole medical team

tofu finally broke my ex's collapsible hamper. after almost six years as his playtoy, and five years hauling laundry to and from a campus laundromat, it is unuseable. a two-pack of replacements will be here early next week. #caturday

update: no he won't, all seventeen facilities in minnesota are full, they are going to send him home when he's still too weak to walk from the kitchen to his bedroom in one trip. now the scramble to find him home care begins.
after almost a month hospitalized, half of that in the icu, my uncle steve is finally set to be discharged and will be moving to a rehab facility near me for a few months. we've got a long way to go before he's healthy enough for the double lung transplant he needs, but progress is being made
