In June, Russian government labeled me a "foreign agent": a designation they arbitrarily give to anyone they don't like. This status has lots of restrictions and requirements under Russian law, including mandatory quarterly reports. But at least I was given a cool number: foreign agent No. 1007!

Russia's Prosecutor General wants the Supreme Court to ban late Aleksei Navalny's Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK) as a "terrorist organization". The decision has undoubtedly already been made in the Kremlin. Expect a new wave of reprisals against its supporters still in Russia.

Прочитал, что Трамп ввел 10%-е пошлины в том числе на весь импорт с островов Херд и Макдональд.
Острова необитаемы, на них живут несколько сотен пингвинов, альбатросов и тюленей. Им теперь, видимо, придется туго.

Amnesty International: Courts in #Russia have convicted 3,738 people of terrorism in 10 years. Over 90% of these were not for any terrorist attacks, but rather for "justification of terrorism" etc. Convictions of these so-called inchoate crimes have increased 50-fold.

A terrible news I still can't believe: Alexey Navalny died in prison. "Was killed" would be more accurate. Putin failed to kill him with poison in 2020, so he chose to slowly kill him in detention instead.

Testing Google Gemini... It tried to tell me on 10 February that it was 9 February and that events scheduled for 12 February had already passed. I'm not surprised: math is hard. The funny thing is it even highlighted these false statements as "double-checked by Google".
