Watching a friends child go through their own gender journey has been wonderful but equally difficult. I’m both happy to see how much they’re supported, but equally jealous. My own parents understanding of gender is very archaic. And now everything feels so much more complex in my 40s.

I was in the shower and I was thinking about 24 hours in a&e, then I wondered about a new Jack Bauer series ‘24 in a&e’ and got presented with a ‘yeahhh’ moment where he looks at a nurse and goes ‘it’s cardiac tamponade’
