A Common Sydney Octopus (Octopus tetricus) partially in a small crevice next to a red rock, along side several Carpet Sea Stars (Meridiastra calcar). The octopus is upside down, with its head and mantle below and its arms on the top, but its arms are reaching back and making a U shape. It is beige and brown with orange on the sucker side of its arms. The starfish have eight arms, and are covered in various colours including dark red, black, green and blue, although nothing particularly saturated. Three are clinking on the rock and another is on the left of the octopus.

I know I should probably be impressed by cuttlefish catching a fish that is almost as big as it is, but they just look too goofy doing it.

A Broadclub Cuttlefish (Ascarosepion latimanus) eating a large fish, possibly a parrot fish. The cuttlefish is holding the fish in its arms and eating the fish face first. The cuttlefish is sizable, and is mostly brown with beige. It is floating just above some coral in a coral reef. The fish is about as wide as the cuttlefish, so the cuttlefish looks goofy holding it. The fish is turquoise and green.

A wall of big-eyed trevally aka caranx sexfaciatus. I followed this swirling gyre of life for 40 minutes or so. You can identify these by the black spot above the gills and white tip on the dorsal fin. Males turn black when courting. Sipadan, Malaysia. #scuba #marinelife #underwaterphotography

A juvenile Ornate Night Octopus (Callistoctopus ornatus) sitting on top of an underwater camera. It is on the top edge, between what I think is the light and the viewfinder. It is is stretching its arms to either side, going along the top edge, with two arms going down, topping a sort of T shape. The tips of of most of its arms are curled. It has a long, thin mantle. It is mostly orange with white spots, especially on its arms. The camera is black. The background is out of focus but contains many green sea plants

It's truly amazing how a deep sea squid looks EXACTLY like a strawberry. Not just a vague resemblance, its got the right shape, colour and it even has the "seeds." They were even described by S. Stillman Berry!

What's more, we're the only ones that know that they resemble each other.
