ok, ok, I'll stop soon -- but I love it when readings converge, and @knarpoet.bsky.social posted Alice Fulton's "Cascade Experiment" elsewhere today: it speaks to this novel.

...Because believing a thing’s true
can bring about that truth,
...let my glance be passional
toward the universe and you.
So I did eventually re-locate my copy of _Notes From A Regicide_: a book it is very appropriate to lose and then find again. Such a gorgeous text, so much about revision in the sense of “seeing again” and also deciding to alter or change — multidisciplinary, tactile, sad, joyful, beautiful.
I fell asleep reading this book last night, and so far can’t find my copy today, which reinforces my sense that this is the kind of novel you dream up/of.*

*strongest recommendation

This is an obvious point, but cannot overstated. There is an enormous difference between deporting someone - where they get off a plane as a free citizen in their home country AND FUNNELING THEM INTO A BRUTAL PRISON FROM WHICH THEY HAVE NO CHANCE OF EVER EMERGING!!!

We don’t say ‘post HIV’ or ‘post Ebola’, so why are people saying ‘post COVID’? COVID is running rampant due to apathy, ignorance and complacency on the part of governments, public health and healthcare systems

Proud of the new issue of Notre Dame Review, my first as poetry editor. A lot of great writing in this issue. One thing I'm particularly proud of is the first translation of some of the outtakes (published posthumously) of Inger Christensen's masterpiece, Alphabet, incl the legendary "O series".
