This dog. When Colette died in 2020 it was Nico who got me out of bed. She was the reason I got dressed in the morning, my companion throughout it all. And she was there on my first date with @mariephillips.bsky.social. She is funny, loving, caring and gentle. I could not have got here without her.
Big day today! Nico is eight! Happy birthday to the loveliest dog in the world.

This is completely fucking unacceptable. Shut this terrorist government down until it stops brutalizing its own citizens.
Today at 34 & Park in Minneapolis, a woman tried to drive down the street where a protest had broken out in front of a home ICE was raiding, saying she had a doctor apt to get to. ICE agents busted out her windows, cut off her seatbelt, and pulled her out before arresting her.

“Half of the harm that is done in this world
Is due to people who want to feel important.
They don’t mean to do harm—but the harm does not interest them.
Or they do not see it, or they justify it
Because they are absorbed in the endless struggle
To think well of themselves.”
