inasmuch as i do think realtime translation is like, now largely a thing (and may even been good enough for like, fast enough to do comedic timing), i think there's probably still tremendous benefit to languages in understanding how to parse sentence order and phonemes intuitively

tore down an old bot i used to search my twitter locked account (copied all the tweets into sqlite and used text stemming extension to enable keyword search, then used this to enable me to recall basically any tweet ~instantly)

another killer thing here would be like, "i would like auto-blurring of accounts that trip a particular classifier" (political, racism, specific kinks) but hm i guess this is what the labelers do no? so like can i write my own labeler where i shell out the account (display name, handle, bio, pfp) --

pitch for bsky that's been cooking in my head of late: the healthy social network, tune your own feeds, un-ipad-baby-tiktok-cook yourself. focus on ur best interests. use a premade feed and tune it. user choice, user agency, back to an earlier envisioned architecture of the web.
