Just because a character is kind and naive, that does not mean they are stupid or oblivious.
It's such a pet peeve of mine when ppl in fandoms or worse of all professional writers / creators get this type of thing confused and ruin characters.

i'm not someone who usually has strong opinions abt what ppl do in public spaces. i've had people smoke joints next to me on the subway it's whatever. but i firmly believe that people who take their phone out during a movie in the movie theater should be shot in the street
