Such an impt pt: We need to equip people with "practices (skills, knowledge, attitudes, habits of mind) that allow them to exert agency over technology." This aligns with John's comment on the pod that adults who use genAI well already have critical thinking along w relevant knowledge.
The best we can do, IMO, is to equip young people with practices (skills, knowledge, attitudes, habits of mind) that allow them to exert agency over the technology. This is true of all tech. Years ago when I was first battling the distraction of smart phones, I used to do an exercise with students..
