A dead televangelist. A masked figure. Rituals gone wrong.
One queer woman is losing her grip on reality—and herself.

Sapphic • Surreal • Unsettling.
Queer, feminist, and rule-breaking. 🌈💥

I keep pitching this book to anyone who will listen as "what if the meet-the-parents scene from Twilight had been a horror movie." It's so good and so spooky but firmly asserts that the scariest thing imaginable is televangelism.
Preorder THE EVER END by AUDREY WILSON—a chilling, queer feminist horror where family, faith, and the supernatural collide, and one woman must uncover the truth before it consumes her. 🏳️‍🌈🔥⛪

Preorder it today—available everywhere on August 5th.

I was introduced by @levgrossman.com's wonderful newsletter to this @zadiesmith.bsky.social piece. It's always an oblique kind of pleasure to see how much everyone else is suffering through it--
That Crafty Feeling - Believer Magazine
I’ve been asked to speak about “some aspect of craft.” I dithered over this lecture. I always dither over lectures, never more than when they’re about “craft.” They cause me an anxiety that the reques...

This is not a real solution, but if you're a trans author affected by the itch.io ban and you'd like to talk to a professional editor about traditional publishing, you can contact me through the link in my bio and I will happily throw you all the resources I have/answer any questions, etc.
I spoke with a number of trans authors whose works have been directly impacted by the ban.

At the time of reporting, I have confirmed that at least five trans authors have had their work outright removed from the platform.

Itch will be WITHHOLDING PAYMENT to any authors whose content was removed!

Excellent reporting here on the itch ban and the effect it's already having on queer/trans authors (and includes steps for what you can do to push back):
🚨🚨🚨 BREAKING: In a dangerous evening escalation of the anti-porn war on the gaming industry, indie platform @itch.io has banned a number of NSFW titles and delisted thousands of others.

Trans authors are caught in the crossfire.

MasterCard, Visa, and anti-porn group Collective Shout drove the ban.
Major Indie Marketplace Itch.io Shadowbans NSFW Content, Trans Authors Impacted
A dangerous escalation against free speech and literary preservation from a longtime haven for transfeminine literature.

Putting this into the world: I'd love to work on more queer scifi this year (anything that would comp Becky Chambers, Martha Wells, Tamsyn Muir). If you have a project like that, I'd be willing to offer more flexible rates to get my hands on it. More on my work + my contact info at kithaggard.work!

Just after I was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease, I started a weird little essay/chronicle of my experience fighting with my insurance company and paying mystery bills and trying to get care for my spine, and boy am I thinking about that today no real reason

My friend @kithaggard.bsky.social has informed me that Microsoft Word is now scraping all our documents for their AI learning shenanigans and that you need to opt out because they've opted you in automatically so if you too don't want that, here are the steps to turn that the fuck off:
