I want Ottawa Charge fans to understand that if Lansdowne 2.0 goes through as-is, there’s a genuine threat that we’ll lose our women’s hockey team. This would be devastating to our city, and to all the women + girls who have found hope and community in the PWHL.

In my personality class this morning, I was covering a bunch of cognitive topics , including field independence. I gave a few examples, including Where's Waldo.

Me: Yes?
Student: I actually found Waldo near Southam Hall this morning.
The joys of teaching on Halloween. 😅

To the person who decided to play New Order "Blue Monday" as we went to commercial, I tip my hat on the appropriate music choice for the World Series tonight.

I lived in St. Marys, Georgia for 8 years, and left after high school. The county has been conservative, and still is, voting for Trump by 67%. And yet, even in this red county, there was a No Kings protest at the St. Marys waterfront (& also in June). Not a huge crowd, but decent for a small town.

The framing around 'stricter age restrictions' feels disproportionate considering the magnitude of the effects.
I ran some rough calculations: Cohen's d ≈ 0.059 and 0.114 for the group comparisons on the cognitive composite measure.

In US adolescents, increasing social media use from ages 9–13 was associated with lower scores on measures of reading, memory, vocabulary, and composite cognition.

Despite rich theory on links between temperament and personality, they're rarely studied together. This has left major unaddressed questions.
We tackled these questions by looking at how temperament and personality develop together from ages 10-26.
