How about my particularly under the weather elk that caught the eldritch sniffles?
An incredibly large elk that has mutated by some eldritch infection. Its many antlers have grown massive and jagged, its face has been reduced to a skull, and another elk has been fused with it around its neck.

This is the perfect analogy.
If you want more people to run, you don’t give them mopeds.
If you want more people to make art, you don’t give them image generators.
This doesn’t “democratize” anything
I sat with Ted Chiang for lunch at NeurIPS yesterday, and someone working in AI brought up democratizing art-making. It was a candid chat and I know the guy didn't mean much by it—so I was like, hey, can I just say something?—I really hate the word "democratize" being used this way. Just say "automating art-making". It’s more accurate. Ted put it better than me and asked, "Do you say we should democratize marathon running? Why not? If you want more people to run, you don’t give them mopeds." We had an interesting conversation about the impact of word choice and then went to his afternoon talk, which was a full house!

She also has very long arms that split open with mouths inside as well as a massive mouth that leads into a tail from behind the mask that represents her face. Gurare is a viroxian, a race notorious for their voracious appetite and willingness to eat just about anything or anyone. She in particular is willing to wear the augments that subdue her hunger so she's safer to be around. She and Colt ended up dating because they had the commonality of being ostracized by society. They ended up splitting because while Gurare saw herself living a normal life and settling down, Colt clearly didn't align with that. Though in being the first person to show Colt genuine kindness is what eventually leads her to becoming, all be only slightly, a better person.
