never mind invest for retirement. Hell, we retired early, are doing well, but our fixed income won't be able to sustain these levels of inflation. We chose to do nothing, since the part dying wont create a domino effect. But now I need to come up with 12k and a solution for existential dread. fin/

We live in a home built in 1908, and the furnace in our converted carriage house started making alarming noises. Our HVAC guys (straight shooters) said it's a part I can replace when it goes, but that our entire system is nearing the end. He said in 2018 that would've cost about $3-5000 but since 1/
