#ISATT2025 The last keynote - one of Prof Aileen Kennedy's provocations is about what we know and understand about 'quality' teaching and the colonial influences on professional learning. Is there a place for resistance?

A much needed support for school communities. Leaders, teachers, families, children need to be supported in their approach to racism and racist incidents. As chair of the National Anti-Racism in Education programme, I want to express members for their valuable time and expertise in producing this.
It's been a huge task to create something in the interim as we were aware schools are crying out for support with this. The final whole school approach due at the end of 2025 hopefully, will also address #racism towards staff. Interested in feedback from colleagues/schools.

Hear, hear! A true giant - his criticality, compassion and conviction paved the way for a social justice movement in Scotland and beyond! 🩷
A huge loss to Scotland, Prof. Palmer was an intellectual powerhouse and exceptional advocate on anti-racism and the need for honest recognition of Scotland’s role in slavery. www.scotsman.com/education/si...

Privileged to be listening to Prof Ann Lopez as she offers observations on the National Anti-Racism Framework for ITE as 'radical work' and simply 'wow' - I think I've passed... 😜 @alisonmitchelluofg.bsky.social @drannlopez.bsky.social

...and why many Black women die during childbirth! Absolutely appalling.
This is the same reasoning that they use to deny Black people pain medication and generally give Black people inferior medical care
Bravo to Sen. Alsobrooks for her question.

“We should not be giving Black people the same vaccine schedule as Whites because their immune system is better than ours.” — RFK Jr

This is the deadlier version of the racist myth that Black people feel less pain, leading to denied pain meds.

Inspiring opening address from @khadijamohammed.bsky.social

AREP should be rightly proud of the work undertaken to date.

This Anti-Racism in Education event is a call to action for all leaders to make anti-racism a priority.

Addressing systemic racism will require systemic change.
