What's also noteworthy though is just how explicit racism, and where it comes from, has to be for some senior politicians to call it what it is, rather than "understanding people's views", "legitimate concerns", e.g. Philp's comments, or pushing their own heavily discriminatory and racist policies.

Knowing your rights as an unpaid carer can help you get the support you need. Healthcare staff are often in a position to signpost unpaid carers to support. You can find some resources that can help here:https://shorturl.at/rmJZj #NHSThinkCarer #CarersRightsDay

This has been along time coming! Great work to all involved!
Here's a cover shot of the report from phase one our #autism and parental blame project published earlier this week. It is unapologetically #parent focused. Phase 2 of the project will engage #healthcare #socialcare and #education professionals. Visit our website and sign up to get involved.

Cornita,it was a pleasure to attend an event that supports our local community and raises cancer awareness. You are truly an inspiration to us all! It was great to attend this event with two of my best friends who both suffer from health conditions. Our health and care experiences are always poor!

#LordDazi People and communities are saying we already know this! The public are wondering why we continue to spend the money on reviews and reports instead of putting it into improving services! No disrespect but it seems to be more about who's doing what rather than implementing the next steps!

This is the bit of the inquiry covering the ground we are arguably still struggling most with: the impact this sh*t show is still having on our health. And people living with Long Covid are the best reminder, if one was needed, that this story isn't over.
📣 UK #CovidInquiry resumes today with Module 3: Impact of #Covid19 Pandemic on Healthcare Systems of the 4 Nations in the UK.
The Long Covid Groups come together again as core participants, and have released a statement:

The callousness with which what happened was described by members of the Government of the time still takes my breath away.

Appreciate you making me aware of the safeguarding issues we have with medicine! Keep up the amazing work and can't wait to learn more from you!
Ending animal research is a HUMAN rights issue too.
Please take action to speed up the move to safer human biology based research methods.

Herbie's law would mandate the replacement of animals in medical research in the UK by 2035. Contact your MP via

very important point . I raised the point recently that Adults with autism in residential care are excluded from some important developments in approach. I'm in touch with someone who developed tools to enable someone to communicate abuse - this tool needs expanding to cover so many areas of life

Good to see trust in charities is strong & improving. Only doctors more trusted. But so much depends on absence of negative media attention, & August is just the time of year when they might think of an attack on charities to fill some space (not that I'm suggesting it!)

Very rare opportunity - the Barrow Cadbury Trust are looking for a new CEO. A social justice charity and funder. (I have threaded to my earlier Birmingham tweets as their local funding has particularly focused on Birmingham)

Any useful reports on those that are non verbal and who's rights are ignored when they're from a protected characteristic?
The current blanket ban on assisted dying in the UK is causing widespread pain and suffering.

The law must change in this Parliament.

Absolutely this! Similar for student loneliness - as I always point out - terrible and deep as student loneliness can be - being at uni is actually a protective factor for loneliness among young people
One thing I've never quite understood about mental health in the UK is the way we will have endless rounds of hand wringing about the mental health of undergraduate students but absolutely never discuss the mental health needs of people of similar age who go to work or don't after school

We need to define what we mean by patient safety, not a week goes by when I don't hear about loss of life in a health setting! Families are unable to see the bodies due to investigation they're too in shock so unable to fight the system! Enough is enough!!!
