Saw badlands and loved it haha. It kept the goofy lightness of the original ones, while still being a completey different vibe which I enjoyed XD

Just got done finishing up 18 new Moss Grats! These were a special one for me as it was one of the first designs I started selling many years back.
This updated design is a fully new re-sculpted one, while trying to keep the feel of the original clay sculpts :)

Definately a interesting topic. I have none of these safety nets, and if I say, earn 90k in a good year. Almost half of that goes to tax stuff. And a insane chunk of that goes to supplies, & costs of getting to events...Actual earning can be as low or lower than 30-40k a year before living expenses.
Many full time creatives have “invisible safety nets” like bread-winning partners, trust funds, external support, etc. No shame on anyone, but it creates a false vision of success. The cost of going to cons alone on top of hoping to eat as a freelancer are untenable, IMO.
When people hear that I'm returning to part time work they often ask "are things not going well with your art?"
The problem really is things are going well, but the world is so unstable that I long for some consistency and income that I don't have to pay quarterly taxes on

Every time I see kids drawing, or young artists posting their handmade work & progress . I feel SO relieved. Out of us, they are the ones being force-fed garbage & quick lazy "solutions" (AIgen ect) the most...And yet, here they are, choosing to be genuine. Its wonderful to see, you are all amazing.

I am glad more people are discussing this. As a full time convention artist, this shit drives me up the wall. ESPECIALLY when it creeps into actual artist alley's and makers spaces. It not only devalues the true art around them, but creates mundane experiences for attendees that may not come again.
In my last 2 weeks of prep before my 5 biggesest events of the year. I may be slow to post things till I am travelling to them, as I am really behind in prep atm. Then its 5 weeks straight of driving all over Australia for every event each weekend in a row.

It's funny. There's a lot of games out there that that I've bought & I am a genuine fan of (for the mechanics, artistry, and story) that I have NEVER played. Playthrough videos have helped me through many boring work days. Anyone else feel this attachment to games they have never actually played?
