UI/UX animation dude. creating and consuming. tweets about politics, movies, tv, headphones, action figures, video games, and a general malaise.
To anyone with a decent BS detector, it's obvious the reason why the WH is freaking the fuck out about an innocuous Mark Kelly video about disobeying illegal orders is because they have/are/will be issuing illegal orders. The corporate media's non-reaction to all of this is so damning.

Besides Legacy, which has a mix of new and old characters, the modern duo I most want to see more of in Trek are Mariner and Boimler.

I am not blind to how opportunists on the right, like Bannon and MTG, who are more adept at populist rhetoric, want to offer their supporters something tangible, but right-wing populism is mostly culture war cosplay.

The movement to destroy liberal democracy is international, and so must be its defense
NEWS --> BBC confirms to me that they did edit a line out of historian @rutgerbregman.com's speech. It called Trump "the most openly corrupt president in US history."

BBC also confirms this was done on the advice of lawyers. So Trump's threats worked.

Trump’s Fury at BBC Gets Unnerving Results with Pro-MAGA Edit Stunner
First, British Broadcasting Corporation execs resigned after Trump complained about a segment. Now the BBC edited out a line from a historian that was critical of Trump. Where does this end?

I’m as hyped as one can be for KILL BILL THE WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR getting a wide release but it sticks out to me that the typically loquacious QT isn’t promoting it himself at all.

The diff between Mamdani and Whitmer meeting trump is partially about gender but mostly it’s about trust. If a male mainstream Dem governor went to the WH (without establishing clear red lines -aka: values- beforehand, because that’s how mainstream Dems practice politics), I’d be sus of them too.
November 21, 2025 at 11:32 PM
After that surreal Mamdani WH visit, I think the folks who are convinced that Trump is easily pushed by whichever of his underlings last spoke to him are onto something.
November 21, 2025 at 11:03 PM
Why are Mamdani and AOC silent on Hakeem Jeffries voting to condemn socialism? Seems like his 11th hour Zohran endorsement wasn’t really sincere.

I am trying not to buy stuff at Amazon that I can get elsewhere, but I think I’m done with GameStop.

This is why moderates and Dems who want a “strong Republican party” are the wrong people to lead us. We need to be unsparing in deliberating justice to stop this from happening. And I don’t think current party leadership is capable of doing the work.
I do not know what comes after Trump in the GOP. But I do know that if those who gleefully committed crimes and tried to destroy democracy at his behest are not fully held accountable, whatever comes after will be somehow worse.

Tesla voting to give musk a trillion dollars just proves to me that the entire board of directors has no fucking clue how to run a car company.

Pretty sure this just means trump will change his tactics for blocking release of the Epstein files with the old "we can't do that because of an ongoing investigation into the opposition" canard.

I love the original X-MEN team but part of the reason why the All New, All Different Giant Size X-Men team were global. Immigrants to Xavier’s school.

Either the shut down ends with negotiation or they nuke the filibuster. Both ends are a net win for Dems, progressives and socialists too.

I'm so tired of people being shitty about boundaries, and the entitlement of so-called "people in positions of influence". I do not owe you my attention or my knowledge and you don't deserve to see me, especially if you are incapable of discerning the existential threat to humanity that genAI is.
Blocking hatemongers is one thing but this trend of using mass block lists to avoid hearing from people who might or might not hold points of view you expect to disagree with is unhealthy imo and hurts the platform.

Bluesky was better off with folks like Margaret Mitchell and Giada Pistilli on it.

There's anti-Semitism on the left, but there's a big difference when one side is generally opposed to ethno-states and the other (the rw) is for them. Politics being what they are in the US, the left would prefer to fight a class war, not a culture war.

I think this really goes a long to explaining why leftist and DSA members have enjoyed more mainstream popularity than ever before. They have the room to cultivate more style and substance than corpo Dems.
SCOOP --> Major new Bidenworld autopsy just dropped: 45 former Biden officials candidly assess their mistakes and failings in new Roosevelt Institute report. They lay out the beginnings of a Project 2029 agenda to reverse authoritarian tide.

If I were running the DNC, there would be Democratic Party sponsored food relief banks across the country right now that specifically welcomed anyone regardless of party affiliation.

Along with the food, there could be voter registration and links to runforsomething.net

Elites do not care about “democracy” except inasmuch as they support any system of social organization in which they personally are elites. Now that they’ve figured out they can maintain their elevated status without democracy, they will all shrug and go about their frictionless lives.
