We don’t need a yet-more-policed X; we need an X where only direct exhortations towards violence (all those death threats to J.K. Rowling, for example) – often accompanied by ‘doxxing’, or publishing someone’s personal information – are rigorously punished.

I think all the time about the policy wonks I used to work with. How they had every reason to know this in advance, and how badly they misplaced their trust, in one field after another.

The reason the “paid protestor” accusation is so popular is that these are people who cannot imagine doing something because it’s right, to stand up for a principle, talking to other people like that.

So basically Trump’s argument is that he only bothered talking about how much he supposedly wanted peace and performed substance-free publicity stunts to win a prize, but since that didn’t fool anyone he’s not going to bother with that charade anymore and will just invade Europe.
