I'm not going to link to Natpo or X, but the headline is enough:

I can't comprehend how Jamil Jivani thought delivering this smarmy, condescending message from Trump woukdbhe received well by non-ConCanadians. Did he believe we'd be starstruck that Trump loves us?

US considers plan where the submarines intended for sale to Australia are instead retained under US command to be sailed out of Australian bases.

In case Canada needs another reason not to buy any more damn F35s.

We need to start building our Gripen fleet ASAP.

So I've heard that the Melania movie uses The Rolling Stones "Gimme Shelter" over the opening shots of Mar-a-Lago.

Imagine flying over Mar-a-Lago while Mick Jagger assures you that "Rape, Murder, it's just a shot away..."

Didja read the lyrics?
No, they never do.

Since my first period class is in the Comm Tech room, I'm responsible for playing the national anthem in the morning, and I also get to play some music before the bell.

Alberta separatism is polling lower than seccessionism in most states.
Next time you run into some MAGAt crowing about how Albertans want to separate, show them this.
California has just cleared a proposed 2028 seccession ballot measure to gather signatures.
23% of Americans want their State to separate from the USA. Alberta is polling at 19% wanting to separate. It's less separatist than: Alaska, Hawaii, Washington Montana, Idaho, California, Nevada, Colorado, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Illinois, Louisiana, Arkansas, Indiana, New York.......

This came up in my Facebook memories. It was just eight days after Carney announced his bid for the Liberal leadership.

The "Breaking" is a bit clickbaity, but the article is pretty accurate. Trump's rage at Carney has built a little each day as he's slowly peeled back the onion of what happened at Davos.

Time for Canadians to read or watch the Québec city speech from Thurs. It's going to get Rocky. Stand on guard.

Hahaha. Canada, we love you. Honestly, not being invited is a badge of honor. Wear it proudly.

Along with all the other messages in Carney's speech the other day, I feel like the subtext for the Home audience (that's us) is to be ready to walk away from CUSMA. And to be ready to start building 72 Saab Gripen jets.

Anyone who followed me on Twitter 15yrs might recall that every time the 24 Sussex debate came up, I always argued that the leader of a G7 and NATO country should have a secure, modern residence, regardless of which party is in power.
Now in 2026 I wish someone in gov't had agreed.

This is exactly what I thought of when I heard they were mobilizing Arctic trained troops in *Alaska* to go to Minnesota.

They've got soldiers everywhere to send into Minnesota, why do they need the 11th airborne from Alaska?

Do you believe they're going to Minnesota?

"For months, Trump’s advisers have been quietly escalating internal discussions about the Arctic—about Greenland, about Canada’s so-called “vulnerability,” about how the United States should “solidify” the Western Hemisphere.

Publicly, the rhetoric has cooled. Privately, it’s accelerating. "

You should read this detailed, interesting and alarming analysis by a US intelligence expert on what happens if the US tries to seize Greenland.

Ten consequences, none of them good for the US.
Not great for the rest of us either but the US will cripple itself the most.

My feeling is that Europe, and Canada, are done being jerked around by tarrifs threats and will juat say "fine, whatever" and realign following Carney's lead.

Yo-yo tarriffs have lost their teeth.

Hell EU just signed a major trade deal with the Mercosur trading bloc. It's already realigning.
