💪 61.5% patients lost muscle
🧈 60.4% patients lost fat
🫁 Extreme thoracic muscle loss & total fat loss independently prognostic

🔹IPC vs pleurodesis = equivalent efficacy

For pleurodesis:
🔹 Talc = most effective agent
🔹 Big drain no better than smaller ones
🔹 NSAIDs fine for analgesia (won’t limit pleurodesis)
🔹 Talc slurry as good as poudrage

This morning I presented results of the STRATIFY multi-centre trial of staging thoracoscopy for minimal pleural effusion in lung cancer. The prevalence of occult pleural mets was only 14%, thoracoscopy was safe & altered treatment plans. Paper coming soon! #BTSWinter2024
