I am excited to have received my author copies of my first book, Semantics and Poetics of the Righteous and the Wicked in the Psalms. This book started as my dissertation at McMaster Divinity College. The idea stemmed from reading about ethics in the psalms. 1/5
I had a fun time recording a podcast interview about the Psalms with a pastor named Johnny Ova a few weeks back. You can listen to it here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=slUI...

Prairie College is hiring for a few different roles in administration, including a Women's Director of Student Development and an Admissions Director. I would be happy to discuss how either of these could be a dual faculty role as well (esp. in Biblical Studies/Theology). Link below.

My review of Jennifer Brown Jones' book "Translation and Style in the Old Greek Psalter: What Pleases Israel's God" has been published by RBL. My verdict: An important contribution to the study of literary features in LXX texts and moves the conversation forward.

I am sad to hear of the passing of Old Testament scholar Gordon Wenham. While I never had the honor of meeting him, he served as a silent "mentor" as a major influence in my research. I remember coming across his Psalms as Torah during the writing of my Master's thesis on ethics in the Psalter. 1/2

I am on a committee to hire a full-time Worship & Women's Ministry Pastor at TLCDenver.com. This is an amazing, diverse Anglican church (ACNA) in Denver. We're looking for someone with a pastoral calling who can also lead worship. Please reach out or share if you know someone!

And in case you didn't know, a relative of Bilbo's appears in biblical literature: Penta Took.
I am grateful for audiobooks on topics I care about for my long-ish commute, but it is clear that most audiobook narrators have no theological background. The church father "Oregon" featured significantly in today's chapter. I knew my love for the Northwest and theology went hand-in-hand.

What are people reading these days on higher education? Articles and books (not textbooks) are most welcome recommendations, especially those related to alternative pedagogy.

I am looking forward to heading to #sblaar24 tomorrow. I will be presenting two papers,: one on Charlotte Mason, the educationalist, who is the topic of a project for Baker; and one on the metaphorical use of meals in Proverbs 1–9, related to a book on wisdom under contract with IVP Academic.
