How do people look around and think that this is even close? They do it by not understanding the history they're quoting. Trump is an autocrat who has been firing people in the federal government who oppose him; that's not remotely a "night of the long knives." Get a grip.

Not sure who needs to hear this, but any govt official who violates someone's constitutional rights -- and is acting outside the scope of their lawful authority -- can be PERSONALLY liable in a civil suit.
