Thanks to everyone sharing this post, and indulging my optimist's experiment to see if a book completely ignored by the literary establishment, written by an author with no famous friends and released by a small publisher, with no big marketing budget behind it, can float solely on word of mouth.
Author wrote best book he's ever written.
Publisher disintegrated/fucked off with author's earnings.
Book was finally published by new publisher.
Author has bought two hardbacks, for full price, to give away, signed.

Please repost/reply if you'd like a chance to win one..

Hey, #Editors & #WritingCommunity! 👋🏻

I've topped up the scholarships for all my self-paced courses again!

There's a limited number of scholarship spots for editors and writers from marginalized groups.

They're first-come, first-serve, no questions asked.

Hi Fiona, I commission writers to work on features (mainly artist interviews) for the Southbank centre's website. I've a healthy list of freelancers across most art forms, but I'm short on writers who have an interest/focus on classical music if you know of anyone looking for opportunities.

Greatly enjoying ABC Radio National's countdown of the Top 100 Books of the 21st Century. The website is being updated live as books are announced across the weekend.

Many of the titles are international bestsellers but it is particularly interesting to see which Australian books make the list.

Meanjin Journal is 85 years old; older than the Sydney Opera House. Closing it down is cultural vandalism of the highest order, roughly equivalent to demolishing the above mentioned opera house.

I am disgusted

It's for feedback on a character in a graphic novel I'm translating.

Ideally they'd have experience with SR, comics, and historical fiction.

Got any recs?
