We’ve been taking some time to review a year’s worth of camera trap footage, and this woodcock moment stood out immediately.

Their camouflage is extraordinary, an adaptation to a life spent feeding among leaf litter at dawn and dusk!

🎥 A stoat investigates a water vole monitoring raft — a rare glimpse of this predator in the water.

A sharp bird alarm at the end sends it racing back to shore.

Wild Cornwall at its finest.

In August, Cornwall’s damp meadows and heaths glow with the purple blooms of Devil’s-bit scabious.

It’s a late-season nectar lifeline for pollinators and the sole larval food plant for the rare marsh fritillary butterfly, whose larvae feed on its leaves throughout autumn and winter.

Not the most flattering angle, but definitely one of the rarest we’ve filmed in Cornwall.

Seen skulking through the undergrowth at Trelusback Foundation… can you guess the bird?

Yesterday we visited Woodland Valley Farm with some of our business members to see the incredible beaver habitat there.

Beavers create wetlands, boost biodiversity, clean water, and reduce flood risk — all by doing what comes naturally.

Our camera trap just met its match: a camera-shy woodcock.

A few steps into frame, a glance at the lens, and it was gone.

Some wildlife prefers to keep its secrets.
