🎥 A stoat investigates a water vole monitoring raft — a rare glimpse of this predator in the water.

A sharp bird alarm at the end sends it racing back to shore.

Wild Cornwall at its finest.

The Cirl Bunting is singing its way back into Cornwall’s story.

Once gone, now reintroduced and thriving on the Roseland Peninsula — another conservation comeback alongside the return of the chough.

In August, Cornwall’s damp meadows and heaths glow with the purple blooms of Devil’s-bit scabious.

It’s a late-season nectar lifeline for pollinators and the sole larval food plant for the rare marsh fritillary butterfly, whose larvae feed on its leaves throughout autumn and winter.

Not the most flattering angle, but definitely one of the rarest we’ve filmed in Cornwall.

Seen skulking through the undergrowth at Trelusback Foundation… can you guess the bird?

Yesterday we visited Woodland Valley Farm with some of our business members to see the incredible beaver habitat there.

Beavers create wetlands, boost biodiversity, clean water, and reduce flood risk — all by doing what comes naturally.

Our camera trap just met its match: a camera-shy woodcock.

A few steps into frame, a glance at the lens, and it was gone.

Some wildlife prefers to keep its secrets.

The Cornish chough vanished in 1973.

Gone from the cliffs. Gone from the skies.

Then in 2001 – 3 returned.

Now in 2025? 300+ wild choughs call Cornwall home again.

A local legend reborn. A real-world comeback. 🐦🔥

Thank you so much!
Just donated to this one to get them off the unlucky 13 donor’s number. Looks like a good cause, and love that my donation gets doubled!

Normally I support things I like by reposting on Bluesky, but occasionally I’ll drop in some money. Joining a regional wildlife trust is the best thing!

🦊 Pine marten kits in neighbouring Devon – the first in over 100 years!

Not our project, but we’re excited by the potential this has for Cornwall.

With the right conditions and shelter (like den boxes), we may see these woodland mammals back in the Duchy one day soon.
