I've only been here a day. I feel frozen and exhausted but these endlessly courageous locals are in it for the long haul. It's their home. They have each other's backs.

If the US Bond market is targeted it could mean: increased taxation, spending cuts [that well has been plumbed already], the Fed intervening with quantitive easing [potentially very inflationary] along with other difficult responses.

Why the fear of offending/angering the 'too wealthy for our own good'? If you tax them what will they do? Close down their revenue streams and sulk? Flee to 'other' tax havens? If they go there will always be others. Their businesses remain or are sold to those others.
