In light of today's statement from the government, it only feels right to reshare the following video. 1/3 tinyurl.com/5fxf6m92

This week I had huige joy R&Ding an unperformed play by a , hardworking, professional-minded playwright. My entire earnings just covered my ticket for a show in the West End, which should never have got have got into rehearsal. Go figure.

Between survival gigs, I help construct @beyondshakes.bsky.social a booming Youtube archive of early modern plays. It's huge fun. and then there's William Percy. If you've ever kicked drugs and want to test your resolve, read him.

Oh, right. I think I might be more successful if I enjoyed my survival gigs less.

Optimism is unfashionable - almost irresponsible, but I have seen three well-wqritten, respectful and properly funded breakdowns todat for filmed dramas. But it's OK; they all shoot on days when I'm already booked.

To judge by the knee-buckling increase in our home insurance premiums apologetically announced by our broker today, even highly developed economies have another huge cost of climate short-termism howling down the line...

...and this dog's not been fed, I warn you. And she understands every word you say. So would you like to reconsider, maybe, Mr Bond?
An “old maid” is a term of reproach, but that any appropriation should be connected with an unmarried state is not only ungenerous, but unjust. True, some have grown eccentric from living alone, but amongst those despised women, some of the most beautiful characters may be found.

Screening for North London Hospice last night of Alba Rosa, by Verve Bee media, Fascinating discussion with the audience afterwards, and brilliantly managed by lead Nichola Wright and producer Louis Salkilld. Very moving to see it and the good work it’s doing after all this time.

Today I am working on 3 pieces, two of them interactive, set respectively in 1719, 1800, and 1815 - 35. And all I've got going through my head is 'Bodyline.' The one from Beetlejuice. #nothelping.

I have a number of conflicting responses to this, but mainly its depressing.
A network of venues and arts organisations formed by the National Theatre in 2017 to foster stronger relations with schools and communities is to close, with Moira Buffini’s comedy Handbagged to be the final tour in the scheme 👇
