Today’s A Path Forward post is about the fundamental importance of universally embedding the updated and new definitions of pain into all healthcare education curricula. Chronic pain is biopsychosocial.

I posted this Poll 1st January 6yrs ago.

Going by recent conversations with healthcare providers, nothing has really changed.

What’s your opinion❓

More importantly, when is the healthcare community going to do something about it❓

Today’s A Path Forward post is about focusing on regaining function when interventions are not appropriate. Even interventionists can be allies in supporting people in supported self-management.

On Dec. 6, 1917 at 8:45 a.m., the Imo and Mont-Blanc (which was packed with explosives) collided in Halifax Harbour.
At 9:05 a.m., the Mont-Blanc exploded. The 2.9 kiloton blast levelled most of Halifax, killed 1,700 and injured 9,000.
This is the story.

December 6th in Canada is The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. On this day in 1989, 14 women were murdered in an anti-feminist attack; another 10 women and 4 men were injured. It is known as the École Polytechnique massacre.

We can never forget what happened.

Today’s thoughts on my first 5k following neuromodulation revision surgery. Meaningful movement (exercise for me) is an important part of managing long-term health conditions, both in prehab and rehab.

With all happening, globally & locally, our lives can feel very overwhelmed. We can feel that the weight is too great & there is nothing that we, as individuals, can do. This quote is attributed to Morgan Freeman. It may sound naive, but I believe it’s true & powerful. Kindness is A Path Forward.
