Sorry for never evver posting here, but does anyone know where to find a cartoon depicting continents breaking through oceanic crust like an icebreaker? I believe I have seen one that dates from an argument against continental drift but i cannot seem to locate this on the entire internet

The preservation of open space and public lands for future generations is among the most fundamental promises of America and is the very purpose of having a government: to protect for all what would be destroyed by short term profit-seeking, so we all may enjoy the much greater long-term benefits.

just because some great scientists volunteer for journals run by particular publishers, does not mean YOU should volunteer too -- your time and expertise are too valuable to throw away to for-profit publishers. Support society journals and volunteer where benefits stay in the research community!

Reconning locations in the Piper Mountain Wilderness for a new seismic station. At this site, we think we might see a fault scarp (dark linear shadow below peak). Can we put a station here just because it's pretty? Can we please?
